Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 released

Adobe Systems has announced the release of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2, a set of software tools that allow photographers to edit and manage digital images.Lightroom 2includes a number of upgrades to the original, including dual-monitor support, streamlined search, and nondestructive localized image correction.

Lightroom 2 offers an enhanced Library module that, among other things, lets users organize images across multiple hard drives. A "Suggested Keywords" feature helps photographers generate searchable keywords for their images by suggesting keywords based on past choices.

Photoshop Lightroom 2 also introduces the Local Adjustment brush, which lets users fine-tune color, exposure, and tonal range without affecting surrounding areas on the photo. The new Graduated Filter expands the toolbox in Lightroom, allowing for edits to larger areas by applying gradually diminishing or increasing adjustment effects such as exposure, clarity, and saturation, alone, or in any combination. Lightroom 2 also helps print more efficiently by quickly arranging photos of multiple sizes on one or many pages with flexible and customizable templates to maximize paper and ink.

Photoshop Lightroom 2 is the first Adobe app to support 64-bit Mac OS X and Windows Vista 64-bit.
